I spend a lot of time in the kitchen baking and cooking for my family. I love having items that make it more enjoyable and easier on me. This handy Silicone Baking Mat from BakeitFun is one of those must have products! It is pretty awesome.
My mat is half sheet size and measures 11" x 16.5" and fits into a 13" x 18" pan. They do offer other colors besides this green. The mats are made from premium silicone and can be used up to 2,000 times! They are safe for the oven, microwave, and freezer. (-40F to 450F) You DO NOT want to use sharp metal tools like knives or pizza cutters on these mats.
Before the first use you do want to wash it with hot soapy water, dry it, and then apply a thin layer of cooking oil. This is only needed before the first use. If you do wash it in your dishwasher you will need to apply the oil again. I just find it easier to just hand wash and then dry it. It just needs to be stored rolled up or flat.
Cookies just slide off the mat!
These mats are German Food Grade Approved, BPA free, and FDA safe. They have rulers along the side to help measure food placement and also circles to help with cookie sizing. I just love how easily my cookies have slide off. It makes for super easy cleanup and I'm not needing to use cooking spray.
This mat would be a great bridal shower gift or a gift for any baker in your life. I'm thinking my mom would love to have one. She hates it when her cookies stick. Nobody likes it when their cookies stick! Maybe you need one too.
