I love experimenting in the kitchen with new products so I was excited to try using coconut flour for the first time. I have heard a bit about coconut flour and knew enough that it can't just be swapped out for the same amount as regular flour. I did a little searching on the internet for some recipes so I wouldn't end up with a flopped mess. I hate wasting good ingredients.
I found a recipe for coconut flour bread and I had all the ingredients. I was not in the mood for running into the store on a Saturday. I also found a chocolate chip cookie recipe but I didn't have all the ingredients needed so I put them on my shopping list for next time.
The smell of coconut when I opened the bag was heavenly!
Also love that this bag is resealable.
Coconut flour really soaks up the liquids.
The finished product.
This coconut flour from MAIVITA comes only from the best coconut crops in the Philippines. The manufacturing and production process follows strict guidelines under a Fair Trade supply chain.
Coconut flour is an excellent source of fiber. It's naturally Gluten-Free. It has no fillers, preservatives, or sweeteners. It's low carb and vegan.
When using coconut flour as a partial substitute they recommend replacing 20% of the flour with coconut flour. You must then also increase the liquid ingredients amount by 20%. Coconut flour really soaks up wet ingredients so you may think a recipe looks off because of so many eggs required or whatever other liquid it may call for but you need it!
You can find this Premium Organic Coconut Flour from MAIVITA on Amazon.
