Hiking - Trekking - Walking Pole

This hiking/trekking/walking pole from Rowe Outdoors makes a walk in the woods or on the trails a lot easier. It is manufactured with the preferred lightweight 7075 Aluminum. 

The handle part is comfortable to hold on to and easy to grip even if you have sweaty hands. The wrist strap is adjustable and it also has a soft liner to prevent chaffing. 

It is a 3 section telescoping pole with quick locks, also known as flip locks, for easy adjustments. We found it very easy and quick to adjust to the height we needed. It worked great for my youngest boy to my tallest one and just took a quick moment to adjust. It has an adjustable range from 26.5 inches to 53 inches. 

The bottom tip of the pole is made with tungsten steel and has a removable rubber tip. A loose terrain basket is also included. 

We look forward to having this with us on our outdoor adventures. We've used it in our backyard trails and found it to be sturdy and it's so nice that it is lightweight enough that it can easily be attached to a backpack when not needed.

I've been using this for just under a week now. It does have a light rose scent to it but it's not bad and seems to fade away after awhile. I put it on at night after I've washed my face. The directions say 1-2 pumps on a cleansed face in the evening. You can follow with moisturizer and eye cream if you like. I choose to just use this serum. It glides on easily and absorbs quickly. It's not greasy either. It left my face very hydrated and I could even tell a difference after the first night. My face was still soft in the morning and not oily. I did not have any irritation with this serum. It didn't leave my skin dry at all.

Mommy Smile! - Book Review

Mommy Smile! is the story about a women's disappearance while she's with her family on the beach. While they are trying to figure out what might have happened to her, old memories come up and secrets of the past are revealed.

I really had a hard time getting into the book. I don't know if it was because if felt like so much was going on or if I just couldn't figure out what was going on. I got a bit confused with all the back and forth and memories. I felt like it was taking them forever to find her and it was a lot of talking and not searching for her. I just don't think it was the book for me. If you like suspense and drama though it may be something you'd like to read.

I try to come up with a variety of activities for my boys to do for Phys. Ed. time since we homeschool. It usually works out pretty good because there are four of them. Warmer weather is much easier since they spend most of their time outside anyways but for cold weather it's sometimes harder to keep active. Ziraki Memory Foam Cushion with Gel Pad

We spend a good chunk of our homeschool day sitting at the kitchen table. We have wooden chairs which after a bit are not so comfortable. Which is why we do some work on the couch or outside when it's nice! Anyways awhile back I had gotten a seat cushion that really helped make my bottom more comfortable but this Memory Foam Cushion has really helped give my back a lot of support.

It comes with straps so you can attach it to your chair if you'd like. It is super soft but also firm and supportive. It helps me sit up straighter and gives my back the support it needs. It feels so good to lean back into it.

The cushion also comes with a cooling gel pad. It has stretchy straps to hold it onto the cushion. It is very cooling. I only used it for a few minutes to test it out. It's too cold here for it now but I look forward to using it once warmer weather comes.

A second cover is also included. It is made of a breathable mesh type material that allows more air flow. Both covers are easily removed for cleaning. This cushion would also be great for use in your car.

Survive and Surpass - Book Review

Let me start off by saying that this book was so very good! It got me right from the start and kept me interested until the very end.  Survive and Surpass is full of betrayal, relationships, and strong women overcoming the hardships they face.

Yuli, Camille, and Ella are brought together because of events brought on by evil Mia. They help each other overcome the disaster she brings to their lives. I love how strong these ladies were and stuck together through it all.

At first I wasn't sure how these ladies were all connected because the stories were told separately then they later mingled in together. This helped build the story line so it kept me trying to figure out what was going to happen next. The writing was so good. I felt like I was right there with each of the ladies and a part of their lives. The characters felt very real and the author did a great job of letting us feel their pain and joy.

My skin is extra dry in winter because it is so cold and dry here so this product actually made my skin feel a bit drier and tight. I plan to hold off on using it again until summer when I have a bit more oily skin and see if that will make a difference.
