The Premium Watermelon Slicer and Melon Baller set seem to be pretty popular kitchen tools at the moment. I was not really sure what to expect with the slicer. My mom had mentioned she had seen someone use a similar one on a cooking show and she said it looked pretty neat. I wasn't sure I was going to know how to use it though. Big surprise - it is super easy and definitely pretty neat!
It cuts through easy and quick.
It cuts a nice straight piece.
It lifts out easily.
I just need a bit more practice.
The slicer feels sturdy. It's made with stainless steel 18/10. I'm just impressed how fast I could get the slices cut. The only thing I wish this slicer had is some sort of a silicone grip on the handle or tongs part. It is a bit uncomfortable to hold and almost feels like you could cut your hand if it slipped or you hold it wrong.
The melon baller makes two different sizes. I know a lot of people like to make pretty fruit bowls with all different kinds of melons for parties and such but I just found it so time consuming. I don't know that I'd really use this very often. Maybe if I had a really special occasion or if I could get my kids to do it! It is really easy to use though and good quality.
