Hohenstein - Book Review
Hohenstein was a delightful read. It brings us along on the journey of Baroness Marie-Louise who is trying to save her family's deteriorating estate. In her father's will it stated that she can't have her inheritance until she is 25 or married. When she returns to the castle she finds it has completely fallen apart and she doesn't have the funds to repair it but she is determined to save it. She also finds herself torn between the attention of a somewhat boring but suitable doctor and a childhood friend whom she can't seem to forget.
I really enjoyed the book. There were a few spots that seemed to move a tad bit slow but overall it was a great read. Marie-Louise was a strong character. I also enjoyed her Aunt Ambrosia's character. She was stern but meant well in wanting what was best for Marie-Louise. The author's descriptions of the castle grounds made me feel like I was right there.
You can find Hohenstein on Amazon.
